7 Tech Processes Goals

1. Maintain the mentality of just jumping in and absorbing new technology. This webinar talked a lot about just picking one tool and getting started learning the process. New technology will always be coming out so I want to make sure that I don't feel too overwhelmed by all the things I don't know to try to keep up, but rather just stay motivated to keep up the best I can and simply learn the processes.

2. Reach out to every other teacher and find a way to collaborate on at least one project throughout the year. This will integrate more collaboration and exchange of ideas as well as incorporate cross-circular instruction. We can use a collaboration tool to discuss and prepare our lesson plans.

3. Learn how to screencast using one of the Screencast tools and try to give screencast feedback to students on at least one assignment. (Just see how it goes and if it is beneficial and more meaningful, which I think it will be because there will be more time for and more detail on personal feedback.)

4. Try a flipped lesson at least one time. (I think this could be very effective and allow more time for higher learning in the classroom with the teacher and other peers, which is shown to be the most effective way of learning.)

5. Incorporate a daily digital check-in to see how students are doing, what they need help with, what things are going well in their lives and anything else they might want me to know. Do not dock students points for not completing this every day but offer extra credit if they do. (I got this idea from Anna Davis from the last Teacher's Lounge. She said it has been a game-changer and really helped her connect more with the students personally. She knows when they need help and can give a student extra attention if they are struggling with a concept or just need a boost. I want to try it and see how if effects the atmosphere of the classroom.)

  1. Isabella your technology learning goals are great! It is very crucial in this the 21st century to be flexible and “on top” of the technology game- especially as a teacher. Reaching out to other teachers is such a humble and excellent way to improve and find the best ways to connect with students- that was very insightful. Student digital daily check in is something I’ve never heard before and love the idea of. Great work!

  2. Isabella! I think the goals you set are super awesome! I especially like the goal of maintaining enthusiasm about the new technology available rather than merely feeling overwhelmed by it. I never consider myself to be a particularly tech-savvy person. In fact, I often avoid learning new tech whenever possible. However, as your first goal suggests, I can make a conscious effort to replace this fear with creativity. I think that your second goal fits in well with the first one as well because as you collaborate with more teachers, you will be able to feel more excitement for the many possibilities! I love that idea:)
